English Rose Cocktail

Bright and fruity with a pronounced apricot-cherry sweetness softened by dry vermouth and a whisper of lemon; it drinks like a floral, boozy confection rather than a sharp martini. Presented up in a sugar-rimmed cocktail glass with a cherry, it’s visually elegant and worth trying if you want a pretty, dessert-style gin cocktail that’s balanced by herbal vermouth notes.

Ingredients

  • 0.75 oz Apricot Brandy
  • 1.5 oz Gin
  • 0.75 oz Dry Vermouth
  • 1 tsp Grenadine
  • 0.25 tsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with lemon juice, then dip the rim in powdered sugar to coat it.
  2. Combine the apricot brandy, gin, dry vermouth, grenadine, and lemon juice in a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake the mixture well to chill it completely.
  4. Strain the contents into the prepared sugar-rimmed cocktail glass.
  5. Garnish with a cherry on top and serve immediately.
