Chicago Cocktail

A warm, spirit-forward sipper showcasing brandy's fruity, caramel notes with a bright orange touch from a dash of triple sec and a hint of aromatic bitters. It arrives as a clear amber pour in a sugared-rim old-fashioned glass, offering a pleasing contrast between the sweet rim and the slightly bitter, boozy core. Easy to make yet refined, a good choice for a relaxed after-dinner drink or a cozy nightcap.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Brandy
  • 1 dash Aromatic Bitters
  • 0.25 tsp Triple Sec Liqueur

Instructions

  1. Prepare an old-fashioned glass by rubbing the rim with a lemon wedge and then dipping it in powdered sugar.
  2. In a mixing glass, add the brandy, bitters, and triple sec.
  3. Fill the mixing glass halfway with cracked ice and stir the mixture well until chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into the prepared old-fashioned glass.
  5. Serve immediately.
