Brazil Cocktail

An austere, aromatic aperitif that tastes dry and lightly bitter with a pronounced anise/licorice lift from the anise and a savory herbaceous backbone from the dry vermouth. It pours clear into a chilled cocktail glass with a pale, vinous hue and a silky, low-viscosity mouthfeel. Worth trying if you enjoy classic, wine-forward stirred cocktails that emphasize dryness and complexity over sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Dry Sherry
  • 1.5 oz Dry Vermouth
  • 0.25 tsp Anise
  • 1 dash Aromatic Bitters

Instructions

  1. Combine dry sherry, dry vermouth, anis, and bitters in a mixing glass.
  2. Add ice cubes to the mixing glass and stir well until cold.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Serve immediately.
