Upside-Down Martini

A vermouth-forward take on the martini that tastes bright, dry and herbaceous with a light citrus lift from the lemon twist. It pours pale and clear into a chilled cocktail glass and presents elegantly with a single lemon peel. Try this if you want a lighter, more aromatic martini-style cocktail that emphasizes vermouth over gin.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz French Vermouth
  • 1 oz Gin

Instructions

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Pour the French vermouth into the mixing glass.
  3. Add the gin to the mixing glass with the French vermouth.
  4. Stir the mixture gently to chill the ingredients evenly.
  5. Strain the mix into a chilled cocktail glass using a cocktail strainer.
  6. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel by running it around the rim of the glass and dropping it into the drink.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.
