Drink Recipe

Zulu

A dark, fizzy long drink that layers sweet banana and chocolate liqueurs over molasses-rich rum, brightened by a sharp lime hit and a whisper of anise from Pernod. It pours deep brown with a lively cola crown and is worth trying if you want a playful, dessert-adjacent cocktail with fizzy lift and complex, tropical-sweet layers. The lime and cherry garnish add a fresh citrus snap and visual pop.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Dark Rum
  • 1 oz Crème de Cacao Brun Liqueur
  • 0.5 oz Crème de Banane Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lime Juice
  • 1 tsp Grenadine
  • 1 tsp Pernod®
  • 4 oz Cola

Instructions

  1. Combine the dark rum, dark creme de cacao, creme de bananes, lime juice, grenadine syrup, and Pernod® licorice liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake the mixture vigorously until well-chilled and combined.
  3. Strain the mixture into an ice-filled Collins glass.
  4. Top off the drink with chilled cola, leaving room for the garnish.
  5. Garnish with a slice of lime and a cherry before serving.
