Habana Libre

A bright, easy rum highball where zesty lime and sweet grenadine balance light and dark rums. Expect sweet, citrus-forward flavors with a hint of caramel from the dark rum. It looks attractive with a rosy wash from the grenadine over crushed ice and is a refreshing, crowd-pleasing sipper that's simple to make at home or order at a bar.

Ingredients

  • 0.75 oz Dark Rum
  • 1.5 oz White Rum
  • 3 dashes Grenadine

Instructions

  1. Squeeze a lime wedge into a Collins glass, then drop the wedge inside.
  2. Add the grenadine syrup and both types of rum to the glass.
  3. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
  4. Stir the mixture thoroughly until well combined.
