Scotch Sour

A Scotch Sour balances the peaty, malty warmth of Scotch with bright, tart lime and a touch of confectioners' sugar for smoothness. It appears a pale amber with a slight cloudiness from shaking, finished with a lemon slice and cherry for a classic, inviting look. Worth ordering if you like a citrus-forward cocktail that still lets the character of the whisky shine through.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Scotch
  • 0.5 Juice of one Lime Juice
  • 0.5 tsp Confectioners' Sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the scotch, fresh lime juice, and powdered sugar in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice to the cocktail shaker, ensuring all ingredients are well-chilled during shaking.
  3. Vigorously shake the mixture to fully integrate the flavors.
  4. Strain the drink into an old-fashioned glass to ensure a smooth texture.
  5. Carefully place half a slice of lemon on top for decoration and additional flavor.
  6. Gently place a cherry on top as a final garnish before serving.
