Broken Spur Cocktail

A silky, dessert-style sipper that highlights the raisiny, fortified sweetness of port balanced by the herbal, vinous character of sweet vermouth with a whisper of orange from the triple sec. It pours a deep ruby-brown and drinks mellow and velvety rather than bright or cutting. Worth trying as an easy, stirred digestif or nightcap when you want a rich, low-proof finish to a meal.

Ingredients

  • 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1.5 oz Port
  • 0.25 tsp Triple Sec Liqueur

Instructions

  1. Combine the Sweet Vermouth, Port, and Triple Sec in a mixing glass filled with ice.
  2. Stir the mixture until chilled and well combined.
  3. Strain the cocktail into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy.
