Ingredients
- 3 Pineapple
- 3 cups Water
- 3 Cinnamon Stick
- 2 tsp Whole Cloves
- 2 tsp Whole Allspice
- 0.75 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup Coconut Milk
- 1 qt Light Rum
Instructions
- Peel and chop or shred the pineapples.
- Combine the pineapple pieces with water and let the mixture stand overnight to soak.
- In a large saucepan, mix the soaked pineapple with cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, whole allspice, sugar, and coconut milk.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and let it boil for about 5 minutes to ensure flavors are infused.
- Carefully strain the liquid into a large pitcher to remove the solid spices and pineapple pieces.
- Add the light rum to the strained liquid and stir well.
- Serve the ponche de pina hot, ensuring each serving is well mixed.
