Kalimotxo

A Kalimotxo is a simple, fizzy mix of red wine and cola that tastes sweet with dark-fruit notes from the wine and caramel-vanilla from the cola. It pours a deep mahogany color with a light cola head and gentle effervescence. Worth trying for its low-effort, crowd-pleasing refreshment and its ability to soften wine’s tannins into an easy, sessionable drink.

Ingredients

  • 10 cl Red Wine
  • 10 cl Coca-Cola®

Instructions

  1. Chill the highball glass in the refrigerator or by adding ice briefly, then discarding the ice.
  2. Pour red wine into the chilled highball glass.
  3. Gently add Coca-Cola® over the wine.
  4. Stir lightly to combine the two ingredients.
