A brisk, herbaceous sip dominated by Fernet Branca's bitter, mentholated botanicals brightened by a splash of lemon and a warming hit of crystallized ginger. Visually it's a small, ice-filled aperitif glass with deep amber spirit, a lemon wedge and a nugget of ginger at the bottom. Worth trying if you like bold, bitter, slightly spicy aperitifs that wake the palate before a meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Fernet Branca®
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 nugget Crystallized Ginger

Instructions

  1. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into an aperitif glass ensuring the juice is free from any seeds.
  2. Place a nugget of crystalized ginger at the bottom of the glass.
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes, allowing them to cool the glass.
  4. Pour in a shot of Fernet Branca over the ginger and ice.
  5. Gently stir to blend the ingredients evenly.
  6. Garnish with a lemon wedge before serving.
