Black Flag

A dark, molasses-forward highball with warm honeyed sweetness and a deep rum backbone. It appears almost black over crushed ice and drinks rich and slightly syrupy, with caramel, burnt-sugar, and toasted notes. Worth trying if you want a bold, dessert-like rum cocktail that's smooth and comforting.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Dark Rum
  • 1 oz Water
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 0.5 oz Molasses

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass, dissolve honey and molasses with boiling water while stirring continuously until fully integrated.
  2. Introduce the dark rum and some freshly crushed ice, then stir well to combine the ingredients.
  3. Carefully strain the mixture into a highball glass already filled with crushed ice.
  4. Serve promptly for optimal enjoyment.
