Dawn Chorus

Sweet, fruity and slightly bitter, ripe peach notes from Southern Comfort and jammy red-fruit depth from LBV port meet the herbal bitterness of Punt e Mes, brightened by a splash of lemon and grenadine. Topped with cola over broken ice, it pours a deep ruby color with effervescence and a soda-sweet finish. Worth trying if you like playful, layered long drinks that balance sweetness with bitter complexity.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Southern Comfort®
  • 0.75 oz LBV Port
  • 0.5 oz Punt e Mes® Vermouth
  • 0.33 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Grenadine
  • Fill Cola

Instructions

  1. Place broken ice in an old-fashioned glass until it’s three-quarters full.
  2. In a shaker, combine Southern Comfort® peach liqueur, LBV port, Punt e Mes red vermouth, lemon juice, and grenadine syrup.
  3. Shake the mixture well to ensure all the ingredients are fully blended.
  4. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
  5. Top the drink with cola to fill the glass.
  6. Serve immediately.
