Spanish Guitar

A softly sweet, cherry-tinged cocktail where luscious sweet sherry and dry vermouth are brightened by a hint of cherry vodka; it tastes vinous and slightly fruity with a gentle fortified-wine warmth. Poured unstrained over broken ice with a speared cherry, it looks rustic and approachable, worth trying if you enjoy low-proof, easygoing after-dinner sippers that favor flavor over punch.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Sweet Sherry
  • 1 oz Dry Vermouth
  • 0.25 oz Cherry Vodka

Instructions

  1. Fill a shaker with broken ice.
  2. Pour sweet sherry, dry vermouth, and cherry vodka into the shaker.
  3. Shake the mixture well until chilled.
  4. Pour the drink unstrained into an old-fashioned glass.
  5. Garnish with a speared cherry before serving.
