Karsk

Fiery and intensely boozy, Karsk is essentially very strong black coffee cut with high-proof neutral spirit. It tastes like concentrated roasted coffee with a sharp alcohol burn and minimal sweetness. It appears as a plain dark cup of coffee, and the copper-coin trick makes it a theatrical, conversation-starting nightcap worth trying if you want a quick, potent pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 1 part Coffee
  • 2 parts 190 Proof Neutral Grain Spirit

Instructions

  1. Place a clean copper coin at the bottom of a coffee cup.
  2. Pour freshly brewed coffee into the cup until the copper coin is no longer visible.
  3. Slowly add the grain alcohol until the copper coin becomes visible again.
  4. Serve immediately once the coin is visible.
