Third-Rail Cocktail

A brandy-forward, slightly sweet cocktail with orchard fruit notes from the apple brandy and a faint licorice/anise bite that brightens the spirit blend. It pours a pale amber and is clear and spirit-forward, making it a compact, aromatic sipper worth trying for fans of boozy, slightly sweet after-dinner drinks.

Ingredients

  • 0.75 oz Light Rum
  • 0.75 oz Brandy
  • 0.75 oz Apple Brandy
  • 0.25 tsp Anise

Instructions

  1. Combine the light rum, brandy, apple brandy, and anis in a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake the mixture vigorously to chill and combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
