Quarter Deck Cocktail

Bright, tart lime lifts a light rum foundation while the cream sherry adds a subtle nutty sweetness and a faint oxidative depth. Pale and slightly amber when strained into a chilled cocktail glass, it’s crisp, balanced and more restrained than tropical rum cocktails. Worth trying if you like rum-forward sours with a winey twist that makes the drink feel both refreshing and slightly savory.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 Light Rum
  • 0.33 oz Cream Sherry
  • 0.5 Lime Juice

Instructions

  1. Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water.
  2. Combine light rum, cream sherry, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, ensuring it is adequately filled for a well-chilled cocktail.
  4. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to ensure proper chilling and dilution.
  5. Discard the ice water from the cocktail glass and strain the mixture into the prepared glass.
