Poor Man's Bloody

A savory, slightly spicy beer-and-tomato highball that tastes like a lighter, fizzy cousin to the Bloody Mary. It looks deep red topped with a bubbly amber head and is brightened by celery; the Tabasco and Worcestershire give it a tangy, umami kick. Worth making when you want a refreshing low-ABV brunch cocktail with bold savory flavors without the heft of a full-strength Bloody Mary.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Beer
  • 8 oz Tomato Juice
  • 1 splash Tabasco® Sauce
  • 1 splash Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Peppers

Instructions

  1. Begin by filling a large old-fashioned glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the tomato juice into the glass.
  3. Add a splash of Tabasco® sauce and a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the tomato juice.
  4. Include a pinch of salt and a pinch of peppers, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Top off the mixture with beer, pouring it last to preserve its carbonation.
  6. Garnish with a celery stalk for an added touch and serve immediately.
