Fernet with Coke

A bold, bittersweet highball where the herbaceous, mentholated bite of Fernet Branca meets the sugary, caramel notes and fizz of cola. It pours dark over ice into a simple cocktail glass, refreshing, slightly medicinal, and surprisingly easy to sip; a good choice if you like bitter, complex flavors without heavy dilution.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Fernet Branca®
  • 2 oz Coca-Cola®

Instructions

  1. Chill the Coca-Cola® until cold.
  2. Add 2 or 3 ice cubes to a cocktail glass.
  3. Pour the Fernet Branca® bitters over the ice.
  4. Hold the glass at a diagonal angle and slowly pour the chilled Coca-Cola® on top.
