Sherry Cocktail

A dry, aromatic aperitif that places briny, nutty fino sherry front and center, brightened by anise-forward absinthe and a whisper of cherry from maraschino. Pale straw in color and served up, the cocktail gains a citrusy, smoky perfume when the orange peel is flamed. Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz Fino Sherry
  • 0.5 oz Maraschino Cherry Liqueur
  • 0.5 oz Absinthe

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until well chilled.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with a flamed orange peel for aromatic garnish before serving.
