Wakey Wakey

A compact layered shooter combining sweet, anise-forward sambuca with a bold hit of espresso and a silky cream float. Visually striking with distinct dark coffee and translucent liqueur layers topped by white cream; it's a rich, dessert-style sip that balances sweet licorice with bitter coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Sambuca
  • 0.8 oz Espresso
  • 0.2 oz Cream

Instructions

  1. Begin by taking a 50ml sherry glass for this drink.
  2. Pour sambuca carefully into the glass as the base layer.
  3. Slowly layer espresso on top of the sambuca by pouring it over the back of a spoon to ensure it stays separate.
  4. Finish by topping the drink with a layer of cream, again using the spoon technique for a smooth pour.
