Machu Picchu

Bright, fruity and slightly sweet with a cool minty lift, orange juice and grenadine provide juicy citrus and a sweet ruby base while pisco adds a floral, brandy-like backbone. Visually striking as a layered highball (ruby at the bottom, golden orange middle, pale spirit layer on top) and meant to be sipped through a straw to experience each layer. Worth trying for its refreshing, summer-ready profile and theatrical presentation.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Pisco
  • 0.5 oz Mint Liqueur
  • Fill Orange Juice
  • 1 tsp Grenadine

Instructions

  1. Fill a 12-oz highball glass halfway with orange juice.
  2. Carefully pour grenadine syrup into the glass, allowing it to sink to the bottom without mixing.
  3. In a mixing glass, combine pisco brandy and mint liqueur.
  4. Gently place two ice cubes in the highball glass.
  5. Slowly pour the pisco and mint mixture over the ice cubes, letting it float on top.
  6. Serve the cocktail with a straw and instruct guests to sip while lifting the straw gradually to enjoy each layer's distinct flavor.
