Black Stripe Cold

A molasses-forward dark rum cooler that tastes like caramelized sugar and toasted molasses wrapped in molasses-honey sweetness with a touch of warming rum. Visually it’s dark amber poured over a bed of crushed ice, giving a frosty, slightly slushy texture. Worth trying if you like rich, dessert-like rum drinks that are simple to make yet comforting and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Dark Rum
  • 0.5 oz Molasses
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 1 oz Water

Instructions

  1. Combine dark rum, molasses, honey, and boiling water in a mixing glass.
  2. Stir thoroughly until the honey and molasses dissolve completely.
  3. Fill an old-fashioned glass with crushed ice.
  4. Strain the mixture over the crushed ice.
  5. Stir gently before serving.
