Dry Rob Roy

A Dry Rob Roy is a Scotch-forward, elegant cocktail with a crisp, herbaceous dryness from the dry vermouth and a bright lemon-oil aroma from the twist. It pours clear amber and is silky and well-chilled, making it a refined alternative to a martini for fans of peated or malty whiskies. Worth trying if you enjoy spirit-forward, low-ingredient classics that showcase whisky with a clean, citrusy finish.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz Scotch
  • 1.5 tsp Dry Vermouth

Instructions

  1. Fill a mixing glass halfway with ice cubes to chill the ingredients.
  2. Pour the Scotch and dry vermouth over the ice in the mixing glass.
  3. Use a bar spoon to gently stir the mixture until well chilled and combined.
  4. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass, allowing any excess ice to stay behind.
  5. Garnish the drink with a twist of lemon peel by gently twisting it over the drink to release its oils before placing it on top.
