Perfect Flaming Dr. Pepper

Sweet and nutty up front from the amaretto with dark-roast coffee and root-beer notes underpinning the flavor, while the beer adds effervescence and light bitterness. It’s a dramatic, visually arresting layered shot set aflame and dropped into beer — a boozy, crowd-pleasing novelty that tastes like a caramelized, fizzy candy version of Dr Pepper.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 shot Amaretto Liqueur
  • 0.25 shot Kahlúa® Coffee Liqueur
  • 0.125 shot Root Beer Schnapps
  • Fill 151 Proof Rum
  • 0.5 glass Beer

Instructions

  1. Pour amaretto into a shot glass.
  2. Add Kahlua on top of the amaretto.
  3. Follow with root beer schnapps in the shot glass.
  4. Carefully float 151 proof rum on top of the mixture in the shot glass.
  5. Fill a beer mug halfway with beer, using a brand like Bud or Coors.
  6. Carefully light the shot on fire.
  7. Drop the flaming shot into the half-filled beer mug.
  8. Consume the drink quickly to maximize the flavor resembling Dr. Pepper.
